Electoral malpractice is relatively rare in the UK, but the allegations of irregularities involving postal votes, bribery and corruption in the Peterborough by-election have once again thrown the spotlight on this issue and its relation to voters from the South Asian community.

She then promised to clear up the mess she created and Peterborough was at least one final opportunity to make a small measure of amends.
Unfortunately she could not do so for its dedicated former MP, Stewart Jackson, who decided he would not contest the seat again, and as for Paul Bristow, the dedicated local candidate, she was nowhere to be seen in Peterborough.

S hadow chancellor John McDonnell said the Peterborough vote had "punctured the Brexit Party's balloon" after Mr Farage departed before the result was announced.
